Wooden stave cooling tank. c. 1920-1960. Prior to the advent of electrical power, milk cans were cooled with running water. This tank was filled with water pumped in by a windmill. H. 2'6", D. 4'1".

Sunset milk cooler. c. 1960. Stainless steel bulk tanks eliminated the use of milk cans and enabled automatic control of milk temperature. This tank was manufactured in St. Paul. L. 6', W. 3'5", H. 4'.
