Bull staff. 1930-1940. This long staff with spring clasps could quickly secure a bull by its nose and allow it to be led at a reasonable distance. L. 2'9".

Nose rings. 1930-1950. Bulls could be made docile by placing a ring through their nostrils. Farmers could then lead them "by the nose" with a chain or rope tied to the ring. Left: 1'1", Right: 5".

Bull blinder. c. 1890. One means of preventing a bull from charging was by obstructing his vision with a blinder, forcing him to walk with his head up. W. 12".
